Shop handcrafted jewelry by Heerima, an Afghan refugee living in Northern Virginia as well as unique, one of a kind clothing and accessories crafted from upcycled, vintage Afghan fabrics. Afghan Couture, believes in more than just creating beautiful garments and products. They are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of women in Afghanistan. Despite numerous challenges they have forged ahead, creating opportunities for women across various fields. From skilled tailoring and embroidery to office administration, social media management, photography, and modeling, we have empowered women with diverse talents to thrive in their chosen profession. Sustainability lies at the core of our brand through upcycling and repurposing traditional hand embroideries.
You can also browse hundreds of hand knotted rugs from Pakistan. Our 12 annual Fair Trade Rug Event kicks off on Thursday, September 21, which brings over 250 rugs to our shop on King Street, from small table top rugs, to room size works of art. Bunyaad, which means “foundation” in Urdu, works to create strong foundations in the villages of Pakistan by paying a fair wage to its artisan families. All rugs are made by fairly paid adults.
