First Night Alexandria

Alexandria’s holiday capstone event, First Night Alexandria, is coming back to Old Town on December 31, 2021!

This signature New Year’s Eve celebration showcases and supports the performing and lively arts with a day and evening full of curated entertainment that is family-friendly and affordable.

First Night Alexandria a local nonprofit organization and this event is made possible due to the generosity of the business and individuals in and around the city.

We’ve planned something for all ages!

•      -“Kids Celebrate!” Showtimes: 12:00pm and 3:00pm at the Masonic Temple.
•      -Sassy Seniors Celebrate NYE!” (NEW THIS YEAR!) A variety show is planned for our seniors who love to have fun during the daylight hours. Showtimes: 12pm and 3:00pm at the Durant Center.
•      -Battle of the Buskers (NEW THIS YEAR!) Check out your favorite street performers as they compete for your vote as ‘Busker of the Year’! Showtimes: 7:00 – 8:30 Old Town streets
•      -The evening’s featured performers will include fan faves who are Back by Popular Demand and introducing some new talents destined to become your fave. Showtimes 7:00pm and 9:30pm at select venues in Old Town
•      -The Silent Disco (NEW THIS YEAR) will be a dance party all night long! Showtime: 7:00 –11:00pm at the Masonic Temple
•      -The Street Party Countdown to 2022 will start at 10pm at Market Square and Fireworks will be the culmination of a day long celebration over the Potomac.

With limited seating at every venue, we strongly encourage early ticket purchases, as we expect to sell out again this year. All purchases must be made online via Eventbrite. This is a cashless event.
